Cupra has introduced the Leon Sportstourer VZ and Terramar VZ Tribe Edition, featuring a unique green exterior paint job, known as Manganese Matt. The Tribe Edition is a limited-run model, with only five units of each available in New Zealand, and is priced at $92,400 for the Leon Sportstourer and $99,700 for the Terramar.
The green theme is carried over to the interior, with green seats and cabin architecture, as well as bio-based paint used for some trim. The seats feature a new 3D knitted technology, made from 100% recycled material, and the upholstery is trimmed using a computer-controlled knitting machine, resulting in “zero material waste”. This technology is not only eco-friendly but also eliminates the need for cutting and sewing, making it a significant innovation in sustainable manufacturing.
The Tribe Edition package adds $3500 to the price of the Formentor and Leon Sportstourer VZ models, and $3800 to the Terramar VZ. The Manganese Matt paint is an extra-cost option, priced at $4000, but is compulsory for those who want one of these limited-edition cars.

Despite the focus on pure-combustion engines, the Tribe Edition models incorporate sustainable materials and technologies. The Sulphur Green alloys, for example, are made from 20% recycled material.
