Jigcar expands into accident repair with Hilton Coachworks

Vehicle logistics technology provider Jigcar has announced its expansion into the accident repair sector with the signing of Hilton Coachworks as its inaugural client. This move marks a significant milestone for Jigcar, which has traditionally focused on serving dealer groups. Hilton Coachworks, a manufacturer-approved bodyshop located near Stansted, provides collection and return services for over 50 franchised dealerships across the East of England.

The introduction of Jigcar’s transport management system has streamlined Hilton Coachworks’ collection and delivery operations, replacing the previous reliance on manual planning methods such as diaries and spreadsheets. By consolidating daily requests, the system generates optimized driver routes aimed at minimizing mileage and reducing the number of empty journeys. Additionally, dealership coordinators receive automated daily notifications detailing scheduled vehicle arrivals and departures.

Operational changes

Elliott Perks, chief executive and co-founder of Jigcar, said: “We’re excited to welcome Hilton Coachworks as our first accident repair client. This marks a step towards our strategic growth in the sector. Bodyshops carry the same transport cost as dealer groups, with less margin to absorb it; so every collection and delivery is a vehicle off the road and a customer waiting. Jigcar’s TMS brings every request into one digitised plan, so the Hilton team can group journeys, make fuller use of its own drivers and transporters, and keep dealers informed without picking up the phone.”

Paul Underdown, managing director of Hilton Coachworks, said: “Before Jigcar, each of our account managers booked collections and deliveries on their own, and planning the day meant pulling it together from a diary and spreadsheets. We now have more efficient workflows. Every request goes into one plan; our dealer partners know what’s arriving and when and we can see where our trucks are going without chasing anyone. The planning data has been eye-opening. It’s shown us where we can get more out of our existing transporters, and we’re now looking at modifications to the fleet so we can handle more of our work as efficiently as possible.”
