Bentley has revealed the First Edition of its new Torcal EV, the brand’s first electric vehicle. This launch model features the most powerful powertrain in the Torcal range, delivering 888PS and 1,350Nm of torque, enabling a 0-60mph sprint in just 2.8 seconds. Bentley has unveiled this highly specified version as a flagship for its electric lineup, showcasing the brand’s commitment to combining luxury with cutting-edge technology.
Exterior and Interior Highlights
The First Edition boasts a range of exclusive exterior features, including carbon fiber front bumper winglets, mirror caps, side sills, and a rear diffuser. It rides on 22-inch wheels with a gloss black finish and silver spokes, complemented by Graphene Grey brake calipers and First Edition badging. Additionally, the exterior includes self-levelling Bentley badges, a subtle yet premium touch that enhances the vehicle’s presence.
Inside, the vehicle offers bespoke seat quilting with contrasting chevrons, illuminated treadplates, and deep-pile carpets. The front seats are part of Bentley’s ‘Wellness’ range, while the rear ‘Comfort’ seats include ventilation and enhanced headrests for outer occupants. Interior customization options allow buyers to combine three color schemes and opt for a full leather interior with contrast stitching, further raising the luxury experience.
Performance and Technology
The Torcal is equipped with a 113kWh battery, providing a range of up to 375 miles on a single charge. Its 400kW DC charging capability allows for a 10-80% charge in under 20 minutes. The battery is backed by a 10-year/100,000-mile warranty, ensuring long-term reliability. Bentley has integrated a unique ‘Dynamic Symphony’ sound system, replacing traditional engine noise with the sound of real musical instruments, creating a distinctive auditory experience. The Torcal also introduces Bentley’s first fully active suspension system and advanced driver assistance features, including assisted towing and parking, which enhance both performance and convenience.
Pricing and Specifications
While Bentley has not disclosed the price of the First Edition, it is expected to exceed £200,000. This estimate is based on the S version of the Torcal, which shares the same powertrain and is priced at £199,300. Measuring five meters in length, the Torcal is Bentley’s shortest four-door model, offering a 460-litre boot and an additional 90-litre front storage area. The First Edition also includes a 1,780W, 28-speaker Naim audio system, powered doors, and a frosted switchable sunroof, further justifying its premium positioning.
