Enthusiasts have less than 24 hours to place bids on a curated collection of classic vehicles, including a Le Mans race car and a 1959 tractor, as the “For the Love of Porsche” event concludes this Saturday.
The sale features 24 vehicles available through the Car & Classic online auction platform, marking the third time the company has staged a special “Collector’s Edition” auction. This event coincides with the recent Megaphonics Porsche gathering held in Boxengasse, Oxfordshire. Bidding for the collection and one charity item closes at 17:00 on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
The lineup spans decades and driving disciplines. At the top of the range sits a 1988 Porsche Kremer 962 Group C endurance racer, which finished ninth overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1988. The car was driven by Bruno Giacomelli, Kunimitsu Takahashi, and Hideki Okada, with motorsport legends Mario Andretti and Derek Bell also behind the wheel. While the Kremer is likely to draw the highest bids, the auction also includes more accessible options like a 1978 Porsche 924 converted to Safari specification and a 2002 Porsche 911 996 convertible.
Outlaw Speedster and rare tractors
A genuine 1955 Pre-A Porsche 356 Speedster is one of the standout lots. According to the listing, this is the 344th Speedster to leave the Zuffenhausen factory. The vehicle received an “Outlaw” transformation by Emory Motorsport in the early 2000s, undergoing 10 SCCA race starts with Rod and Gary Emory at the wheel. Imported to the UK in 2012, the racer was officially converted for road use and is maintained by a Porsche 356 specialist. Because of its original Speedster chassis, it qualifies for historic events like the Mille Miglia.
The collection also features agricultural machinery, including a 1959 Porsche 108 tractor. This specific tractor is described as being in “amazing” condition.
For those who appreciate art over asphalt, the auction includes a steel Porsche 911 SC bonnet that has been transformed into a piece of wall art. The item is signed by Richard Attwood, a Porsche legend and 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans winner. Proceeds from the bonnet’s sale will be donated to the Hope for Tomorrow charity.
Tom Wood, CEO of Car & Classic, said the event highlights the passion behind the brand. “Porsche has the most devoted and knowledgeable enthusiast community in the world,” Wood said. “But this auction is about more than exceptional cars—it’s about showcasing the stories behind the passion.” The platform currently lists more than 3,000 Porsches at any one time, making it one of Europe’s largest marketplaces for the marque.
